The Psibernetic Arch
“Our guiding metaform is that of a rainbow arch bridging two apparently opposed spheres: cybernetics and psychic systems; the west and east sides of the mind, provision and prevision: cyb and psi. As the digital cedes to the chemical in mind research, we can expect a greater appreciation of the dynamic organism as the meta model of social and cultural construction, and consciousness as our field of creative inquiry and play”

We invite you to apply to our nomadic residency and exhibition programme taking place in London with our partners Green Rooms and Arebyte Gallery.
During this 10-day residency in the heart of London, we will transform, make, and exhibit our work in various locations and present the results at Arebyte Gallery in the heart of London’s art district. This full-immersive journey investigates practical approaches to the theme of the mysteries and the hidden, including questions like: What part of an experience crafted through art, research, or everyday language needs to remain untold? What quality of experience exists in a space shaped by the consequences of what must remain hidden?

The conference continues to focus: a) on questions about the nature of the forbidden and about the aesthetics of liminality – as expressed in art that uses or is inspired by technology and science, b) in the opening of spaces for creative transformation in the merging of science and art. Besides the call for papers and artwork presentation, this year’s conference also includes a call for posters, organized in conjunction with the A-Club of the Planetary Collegium. The Cybernetic_Peripathetic theme of the Athens BecomeBecome Masterclass aims to intertwine two kinds of movement, whether concerning wandering around or flow of information, and involve both body and mind in a process-based development of the participants’ particular art pieces and scientific projects.
Peripatetikos (περιπατητικός) refers to the act of walking, and as an adjective, “peripatetic” is often used to mean itinerant, wandering, meandering, walking about. AfterAristotle‘s death, a legend arose that he was a “peripatetic” lecturer – that he walked about as he taught – and the designation Peripatetikos came to define the school of his followers.
